Climate Action Workshops


A series of half day workshops in Climate Action have been organised by Dublin City Council. These half day workshops are aimed to assist you to better understand the need for climate action at a local level and build local climate knowledge.  The workshops will be facilitated by Gavin Harte who is a Sustainable Development Consultant, Climate Coach and Sustainability Activist.


The Let’s Talk Climate Workshop comes in 6 parts:




  1. An introduction to climate science, impacts and solutions.

  2. An introduction to climate action at a national and local level.

  3. A facilitated workshop to identify possible actions at local level.

  4. A role play workshop to prioritise potential actions for implementation at local level.

  5. A follow up action report to all participants.

  6. Evaluation and feedback from participants.


The half day workshops will take place on:


Workshop 1.


Venue:                 The Gresham Hotel, O’Connell Street, Dublin 1.


Date:                     Saturday 5th October 2019.


Time:                    Tea/Coffee and registration at 9.30am


Workshop:          10.00am to 1pm


Lunch:                   1.15pm- 2.15pm.


Workshop 2


Venue:                 The Gresham Hotel, O’Connell Street, Dublin 1.


Date:                     Saturday 12th October 2019.


Time:                    Tea/Coffee and registration at 9.30am


Workshop:          10.00am to 1pm


Lunch:                   1.15pm- 2.15pm.


Workshop 3


Venue:                 The Westin Hotel, Westmoreland Street, Dublin 2


Date:                     Saturday 9th November 2019.


Time:                    Tea/Coffee and registration at 9.30am


Workshop:          10.00am to 1pm


Lunch:                   1.15pm- 2.15pm.

Each workshop can facilitate 50 people, so depending on the take-up of each workshop, people may have to be moved to different dates.
